Summer’s Question: What Has Been Ripening Inside of You? And Will You Let It Be Seen?
Hello, fellow friend on the path!
I hope you are enjoying this summer season, and are experiencing the abundant fruits of life, both within yourself and outside of yourself!
Over here in Washington, the berries are just beginning to ripen, as there are seemingly endless raspberry, blackberry, and salmonberry bushes both in the city and in the neighboring mountains. It’s so cool that Nature does this every year! I think I’ll bake a pie from fresh, foraged berries soon.
I am saying this because it spurred me into deeper contemplation of what Summer, the season of full bloom, is really asking of us as humans.
Because I’ve noticed my energy change as this season has come online: I feel like I want to move more. I am more outgoing, social, noticing myself wanting to authentically commune with other humans, to share what’s been ripening inside of me, and letting what I’ve been quietly tending beneath the surface to break the surface more and be seen by others.
I’ve witnessed the same desire and movement of energy in others too, and I’ve noticed myself listening to others; clients, friends, members of the Soul Emergence Collective, with a greater hunger for generative aliveness, for what’s authentically stirring in people.
And it is this observation that led me to a greater understanding of what Summer is asking of us.
Ultimately, Summer’s question, as I see it, is: What has been ripening inside of you? And are you willing to let it be tasted, felt, seen, by the world?
The being seen part is key…many people right now, myself included, are currently experiencing parts of themselves that fear being seen, that feel inadequate, not good enough, fearing that being vulnerable and sharing the gifts of your true self will not be met in a way that is nurturing.
This is normal. This is okay. These parts of ourselves need tending to, and so my invitation to you is to do the following as soon as possible:
1. Go outside. Find something that's fruiting — a berry bush, a garden, a tree blooming with something
2. Engaging all of your modes of perception (sight, sound, touch, smell, taste, heart), stand near the blooming organism, and ask yourself: where in my life am I still a seed pretending I'm not ready to be fruit?
3. Let an answer come to you naturally, do not try to “think” about the question too much
4. Once an answer has come, take one small step towards being seen in the place that was previously unseen: send the message, post the thing, say the thing in conversation that you’ve always wanted to say, etc.
Enjoy the fruits!
If you want to go deeper, consider joining the community that I opened up last March, the Soul Emergence Collective.
Inside, you will find a 25+ hour course that is designed to bring your unique Soul to life, discovering and embodying the gift(s) that only you can give that makes the world more beautiful, whole, and complete because you are in it.
We also do weekly group calls that deepen us into relationship with the work and with each other, as well as weekly meditation hours that activate the Heart center (Love).
I hope to see you there!
With Love,
Wyeth
